Buthe at once gave evidence of being up to date, as he told ushe had joined the M. C. & L. P. A. and expects to meet withthem in the near future at Atlantic City. At present he em-ploys a force of about 190 men, 19 of whom are in the freightdepartment. Day work is the order throughout the entireplant and we are told that some 1,200 men are now employed,yet the plant is not up to its full capacity, as about 2,000men can be employed when it becomes fully fitted and in-stalled for the building of new cars, as well as repairing ofthe old. Moving in late last fall, or early winter, carpentersare still busy putting up various shop devices, fittings andfixtures. In the paint shop no permanent staging is installedas yet, but they are preparing to do so, and as there is no illu-minating gas near they are
