Wind whips dust clouds from newly harvested wheat fields surrounding the Cappella della Madonna di Vitaleta (Chapel of the Madonna of Vitaleta), an iconic symbol of Renaissance Tuscany. The chapel at Vitaleta, Val d’Orcia, Tuscany, Italy, was founded some time before 1590 and was rebuilt in 1884.

The chapel was founded some time before 1590 and was rebuilt in 1884. It once housed a valuable statue, the Madonna Annunciata by Renaissance sculptor Andrea della Robbia (1435-1525), which is now preserved in nearby San Quirico d’Orcia.
