The ore has been taken from a pit75 feet deep and 60 feet long on an ore body averaging about 15 feet in width, and froma drift run 70 feet to the south from the bottom of the open pit. Drilling was done atfirst with hand steel, but later a boiler was put in, which is used to run one drilland the hoist. The property was located at the time of the building of the National Transcontinentalrailway, and before the discoveries at Porcupine, by Mr. Alex. Kelso, who was guided tothe place by the attraction of the magnetic needle noted in the land surveyors is worked by a syndicate, composed of
