MODEL RELEASED. Granular cell tumour affecting the left eye (right) of a 91-year-old man. Also known as a Abrikossoff's tumour, this rare growth normally benign, usually appearing in the skin and arising either from nerve cells or the Schwann cells that form the sheath of nerve fibres. The tumour cells are large and typically appear polyhedral. Most of these tumours are surgically excised and do not recur. Around half of these tumours occur on the head and neck. Here, it is affecting the orbit of the patient's left eye.
