Cabbage worms may be easilykilled by spraying with paris green,1 pound in 50 gallons of water, orarsenate of lead (paste), 4 pounds in 50 gallons of first application should be made soon after the plantsare set out and repeated whenever the worms become numer-ous. The poison may be applied in the form of a dust dilutedwith some inert material, such as flour, plaster or hydratedlime, but is not so effective wdien used in this way. Chemicalanalysis of sprayed plants has shown that there is practicallyno danger from eating cabbages that have been treated wuthan arsenical.
