Southport, Merseyside, UK Weather 15th October, 2017. Migratory birds arrive in huge numbers. This autumn wildlife spectacle includes thousands of migratory birds who move across the marsh feeding looking for feeding sites as the seawater rises. The first 5five thousand plus Pink-footed geese, and Canada geese have made the 500 mile journey from Iceland to spend the next month at Marshside roosting on the local mere. Over the next couple of weeks numbers will steadily increase with an estimated 100,000 birds expected to arrive from Iceland. Credit. MediaWorldImages/AlamyLiveNews.
