The Corps marched fromPhiladelphia for camp August 25th and arrived on the 29th of thesame month, making easy marches and taking advantage of everyopportimity offered to instruct the members in the open countrywhile on the march and on halting, placing guards for the nightand receiving much good instructions in their duties as their arrival in camp the troops were formed into Battalions,September 22nd, 1814, Captain Biddle was promoted to Coloneland Lieut. Hartman Kuhn was promoted to Captain of the com-pany. The company served until the close of the war doing goodservice in moving form point to point with the Advanced THE ORGANIZER OF THE STATE FENCIBLES. 1814 CAMPS BLOOMFIELD AND DU TONT 9 September 29th, the troops from Camp Bloomfield final!} en-camped at Camp DuPont having removed to Greggs Farm on the17th, thence to Camp Brandy wine on the 20th, thence to DuPontsthat day. The Brigade changed its encampment several times; thelast position selected was in the neighborhood of Wilmington. Onthe morning of November 30th, 1814, the troops left Camp DuPont,and returned to the city of Philadelphia, the 2nd day of December,1814. The State Fencibles, together with the other companies at-tached to Col. C. C. Biddles regiment, part of the Light Brigade,were mustered and inspected preparatory to being dismissed fromthe U.
