PACIFIC OCEAN (March 25, 2021) Navy Rear Adm. Philip Sobeck, commander, Expeditionary Strike Group 3, addresses Marines and Sailors with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit and assigned to San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Portland (LPD 27), respectively, via the 1MC during a visit to the ship . Navy and Marine Corps integration training provides the Essex Amphibious Ready Group/11th MEU its first opportunity to plan, brief, execute, and debrief multiple mission packages. The Essex ARG is underway conducting routine operations in Third Fleet.
