German pilot LT Ingo Gerhartz checks instruments in the cockpit of an F-4E Phantom II aircraft simulator. The 1ST German Training Squadron uses the George training range complex for initial and advanced F-4E pilot training. Instructors from the 20th Tactical Fighter Training Squadron (20th TFTS) teach German pilots in the basic F-4 course, RF-4 preparatory training and the fighter weapons instructor course.
