A wild boar statue at the Goo Shrine in Kyoto, Japan. The temple is dedicated to Lord Wake no Kiyomaro, who was exiled to Oita Prefecture. Legend has it that 300 boars escorted him several kilometers and that his wounded leg was healed. Consequently the boars are prayed to for good health especially in the legs and a life free of accidents.
