A Japanese katana, circa 1835, Blade shinogi-zukuri, torii-zori, chu-kissaki, weak choji hamon based on notare midare. Midare komi boshi with short kaeri. Nahi hada, kesho finish. Nakago with one mekugi-ana and kesho yasurime, inscribed "Ushu Yanesawa Ju Kato Chounsai Tsunatoashi, contract work for Nakamura Mototada, Tempo Roku Nen Sho Gatsu Hi" (1835). Style of the signature and the tang form differing from comparable works of the mentioned artist. Silver-plated copper habaki with nekogaki.
