Ancient Egyptian cat figurines. Bronze figure of a cat found in excavations in Egypt. It may have been part of an act of worship to a god with an animal cult. Cat offerings would have been intended for the goddess Bastet (also known as Bast). This object is part of the collections at the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology at University College London (UCL). It dates to the period 664-343 BC.
