J. P.—111. While the boiler may be located at the middle of the north side of the range, as proposed, we would prefer to locate it near a corner at the north side of the range. Unless the location is about level, it would be desirable to have the boiler house at the lower end of the greenhouse, in order to get a better fall for the return water. It is not stated whether steam or hot water is to be used for heating. While the mains will be larger than will be necessary for use with steam, we would prefer to have two 5-inch flows for hot water. If hot water is to be used, we would advise that the smaller flow pipe be enlarged to 5-inch at some point near the boiler. The returns should be of the same size as the flow pipes. Each of the hot water flows should be used to supply three of the houses. In the 20- foot houses we would run a 2Vj-inch flow on each plate, with four IVi-inch returns on each wall underneath, ex- cept in the outside house, which has four feet of glass in the wall; in this house two additional returns should be run on the outer wall.
