The most notable smelters are: TheAmerican plants at Garfield and Murray, the International atTooele, the Utah Consolidated, Yampa, United States, the Inde-pendent at Ogden, the Knight at Tintic and the Majestic inBeaver County. The principal reduction mills are: The Magna and Ar-thur at Garfield, approximated capacity 20,000 tons daily; theNewhouse at Newhouse, the Golden Gate, Sacramento, and Boston-Sunshine at Mercur, and the Daly-West and Silver King at ParkCity. The model smelting town of Garfield at the base of theOquirrh Range, just west of Salt Lake, is a center of activity.
