The view out from the platform that marks the summit of Knock Farril and the main accomodation area of the Pictish hillfort that once stood at this commanding location overlooking Strath Peffer. The remains of vitrified walls are still clearly evident surrounding the flattened summit and on a clear day the views over the Cromarty Firth, Dingwall and Strathpeffer make it clear what a strategic location this was with the farmland close by and fishing on Loch Ussie this would not have been a bad place to live.
