Stone markers preserve the location of fallen 7th Cavalry soldiers, including General George Armstrong Custer, at the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument in Wyoming. The Battle of Little Bighorn took place on June 25, 1876 when Armstrong's 7th Cavalry was met by a combined force of Lakota-Northern Cheyenne and Arapaho soldiers.
