L, 8th Regiment, He joined the National Guard, , on June 28, 1916, andserved as Regiment Supply Sergeant of the 8th Regulars at CampCotton, Tex., on the Mexican Border; being honorably dischargedin May, 1917. He enlisted in Aviation Service on May 14, 1917,at the 1st Plattsburg Officers Training Camp, and attended firstthe Ground School, graduating Dec. 8, 1917.
