The text is illustrated with 136 intricate drawings of looms, many in watercolor, showing set-ups for various patterns and materials, and includes 102 tipped-in examples of fabric. The chapters contain detailed information on silkworms and their breeding, the pulling of silk, and the composition of fashion materials, including gauze and damask. Reimagined by Gibon.
