Nature eases the monotony of "water, water (and ice) everywhere" for the men journeying with the Coast Guard icebreaker Eastwind into the white forests of the Arctic by showing off her gallery of fairyland sculpture work. The Eastwind was photographed passing this iceberg in the East Arctic during the 1956 annual summer resupply missions to stations and bases in Greenland, eastern Canada, Baffin Island, and at the top of Alaska, carried out by the Navy for the United States (with the cooperation of military forces of Greenland and Canada).
