The front exhibits six Doriccolumns, rising from a flight of steps, and behind this there is a recess,and a second row of columns. The garden front is adorned with sixpilastres of the same order. A dome of stone, surmounted by a glasscupola, gives a graceful finish to this beautiful and classical interior is distinguished by the same simplicity and elegance asthe exterior appearance. The Founder of the Hunterian Museum was the celebrated By his will, dated 31st July, 1781, he bequeathedto the Principal and Professors of the College his Museum, and appro-priated £8000 for it
