Josiah, in company with his brothers, Albert,3 Thomasand Miller,5 built vessels on the banks of North River, nearthe bridge, at Hanover. L. Vernon Briggs gives an ex-tended account of this in his book. History of Ship-building on North River. Josiah was an enterprisingbusiness man, and his descendants were and are worthy ofthe stock from whence they sprung. Josiah built thehouse afterwards owned by Benjamin Pratt, on Elm Street,Hanover, near Curtis Crossing. He died
