Forms a close, com- pact mass of leaves ; very early, excellent for forcing. Black-Seeded Simpson. Produces a compact mass of leaves of a light color, nearly double the size of the ordinary Simpson; standing well the summer heat. Grand Kapids Forcing. This is regarded in the West as the best forcing and shipping variety.
