For it is they that generate theeggs, or ova, or ovules, which, after becoming fer-tilized or fecundated by the spermatozoa of the Ovary. develop into children. Without the ovaries of thefemale, the same as without the testicles of the male(to which they correspond), no children could bebegotten, and the entire human race would quicklydisappear from our planot. They are of a grayish or whitishpink color, and are about an inch and a half long,three-quarters of an inch wide, and one-third of aninch thick. They weigh from one-eighth to one-quarter of an ounce. Their surface is either smoothor rough and puckered. Think of a large blanchedalmond and you will have a pretty fair idea of thesize and shape of an ovary. The Fallopian Tubes.
