In response to our request for prices of lioncy we have received the following letter from Mr. D. E. Bonyonni, Letter- ston, Pembrokeshire: — RE PRICE OF HONEY (p. 256, Avgust 17 issue). I am sending you my price list and advertisement in "Fishguard Echo," and tliose are the prices, retail, that I am getting; but what we have to contend with here is the non-existence of a,Bee- keepers' Association. I have suggested the formation of such an Association to several beekeepers in the county, but the breaking out of the war in 1914 stopped any progress. I find it a great hindrance (and often- times a nuisance) that we are shut out of the As for the "Isle of Wight " disease—it has practically \Yippd out the stocks of all small beekeepers wholesale in this county. I, myself, lost 16 stocks last year; but still, with perse- verance and research work, I have man- aged to pull through. I have trie<:l nearly all of the so-called cures during the past five years, but I find that they simply " arrest " for a sea- son, or so, the disease, but not extermi- nate it. As for imnnuir bees—Italians, etc.—I have found that they are not free from the complaint. My black bees have done very well this year, and so have my hybrids; but the three Italians had a bad attack of Mai de Mai in July, ^hile all the others escaped. The price list is:—Per lib. in screw- capped glass jars, Is. 6d.; 41b. in plain glass jars, os.; 71b. in tins, at 8s.; 141b. in tins, 15s., or per cwt., £5, carriage paid.
