At first he studied under Pro-fessor Doxey, later under Professor Stewart, andsubsequently studied violin music under ProfessorRosher. He became an expert musician on everyinstrument undertaken, and since 1886 has beena member of either Roshers or Bergs 1883 he began traveling for Wood &Ogden,selling pianos and other musical instruments, histerritory lying in Orange, Sullivan and DelawareCounties. After continuing with that firm untilits dissolution, he was employed by their success-ors, Morgan & Wilber, until 1893. In January, 1894, Mr. Sayer purchased thelivery business of L. B. Scott, which was the old-est and largest in Middletown. The building,which is two stories in height, and has a frontageof one hundred feet, extends back two hundred. HVLET D. CLARK. In 1893 Mr. Saver assisted in organizing theTwenty-fourth Separate Company Band, in whichhe plays solo alto.
