Los Angeles. Satellite image of the city of Los Angeles, California, USA, and its surrounding area. North is at top. Vegetation is green, urban areas are grey, desert is yellow and water is blue. At top is the Mojave Desert, at right centre is the San Gabriel valley, with Orange County below it. At bottom is the Pacific Ocean with Los Angeles harbour at centre and Santa Monica Bay at left. Above Santa Monica Bay is San Fernando Valley. The San Andreas fault forms the diagonal mountain range bordering the Mojave Desert.
