The Air Force has deployed four F-22 Raptors, one C-17 Globemaster III, approximately 60 Airmen and associated equipment to Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany. The deployment will occur from August 28 to mid-September 2015. The inaugural F-22 training deployment to Europe is funded by the European Reassurance Initiative. The F-22’s are deployed from the 95th Fighter Squadron at Tyndall AFB, Fla. While these aircraft and Airmen are in Europe, they will conduct air training with other Europe-based aircraft.
