NEW YORK -- A sailor lays a white rose at the base of a recovered piece of the World Trade Center buildings turned into a memorial, Sept. 9. Marines and sailors from USS New York joined other locally stationed troops, first responders and veterans for a ceremony at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum.
