The cars, which are built by the J. G. Brill Company,are mounted on traction trucks and are fitted withportable vestibules. One of the twelve-bench open cars, which were also built bythe Brill Company, is shown in Fig. 22. The principal dimen-sions of this car are as follows: Length over crown pieces,38 ft. 9 ins.; distance from center of corner posts over crownpieces, 3 ft. 8 ins.; width over sills. 7 ft. 5 ins.; width over postsat belt rail, 7 ft. 10 ins. The side sills are 4^4 ins. x 7 ins., andare plated with 5,.^-in. x 9-in. steel; the crown pieces are 2^ins. X 12 ins., and the cross joists arc 3^2 ins. x 6j4 ins.
