ROODERS. No excavating need be done for the Cyphers Out-door Brooder, or for any part of it. The brooder stove(see illustration) is reached through a door in the rearof the brooder—both styles. It is located on a slidingboard, which needs only to be pulled out to reach thestove, and when pushed back in place locates thestove exactly where it belongs. The heat-drum ismade of heavy galvanized iron, and this brooder, likethe Cyphers Style B Indoor Brooder, furnishes mainlytop heat, which is radiated from an air-tight drumthat extends upward into the brooding chamber, w hereit is surrounded by the round chick-guard and coveredby the removable circular hover. While the bulk ofthe heat is top heat, a solid sheet of galvanized ironextends over all the space underneath the brooderfloor, and the heat that is reflected back from thecircular upright drum works out under a large galvan-ized iron deflector that reaches to the four walls of thebrooding chamber, thus heating the entire floor space. Three-Apartment Cyphers Unequaled Outdoor Brooder, Style A (Rear View). of the chamber to a moderate degree. In this outdoorbrooder, as in the Cyphers Indoor Brooder, all fumesand gases from the brooder stove pass out under thegalvanized iron guard and are discharged into the sur-rounding air at the sides of the brooder (see illustra-tions). A special advantage of the Cyphers Outdoor Brood-er, Style A, is found in the fact that both apartmentscan be reached with perfect ease. The two lids arepractically as large as the brooder, the one givingaccess to the chick chamber where the hover is located, the other to the chick run where the chicks are to befed and watered on stormy days. Both of these lidsare entirely covered with extra-heavy tin,
