Roan Edge is owned by Cemex UK. After several fallow years the quarry became active again in 2006, after being granted planning permission to deepen and extend the quarry. The quarry produces high-performance gritstone for use in road building. The supply of high PSV (polished stone value) aggregates is critical to the road construction industry. The plant includes a Doosan Moxy MT3D/1 Dump Truck, a Powerscreen Turbo Chieftain 1400 mobile inclined screen and a Caterpillar D6H LGP Bulldozer. The plant is the property of of Endmoor, Cumbria.
