A house fire in the Kearny Mesa neighborhood of San DIego resulted in a first alarm assignment of San Diego Fire-Rescue firefighters. The fast moving fire destroyed the living section of the home, with only the garage surviving the flames. Following a complete roof collapse over the living quarters, firefighters had to use an aerial ladder to finish extinguishing the flames. The two occupants of the home escaped unharmed . The cause of the fire was determined to be recent work on the roof of the structure and total damages were set at $400,000 USD.
