Computer-generated map combining topographic and bathymetric data to provide details on the elev- ation of the land & the depth of the ocean at all points on the globe. Two scales are included; the top one for the land, the bottom one for the sea. Mountain ranges such as the Himalayas & the Andes are clearly visible pale areas. Submarine features such as oceanic ridges and trenches appear as very light blue and as pink regions, respectively. The data set upon which this map is based was compiled mainly from survey maps, and is widely used to produce low-resolution models of the general circulation of the atmosphere and oceans.
