A sapper's sabre., A heavy sawback blade with wide fullers, a rear edge, and a Pandour point. It bears the mark "M" for Klingenthal Director Jeans-Jacque Mouton on the ricasso. Gilded brass hilt with a sculpted rooster head on the pommel (damage to the comb on the reverse side). The quillons have lions heads and are marked "1816 2" "S" and "27". A star mark on the grip.
