The Srinagar city witnessed clashes between youth and forces after Friday prayers at historical Jamia Masjid Srinagar here, against the killing of two local rebels on Thursday in Pehlipora, Shopian, south of Srinagar. Scores of youth assembled near Nowhatta chowk and started pelting stones and shouted slogans in favor of militants. The forces, however, resorted to heavy tear gas and pellet gun shelling to disperse the protesters.
