Frill-neck lizard (Chlamydosaurus kingii) displaying on a termite mound. This agamid lizard (dragon lizard) is found mainly in northern Australia and southern New Guinea. When frightened, in territorial displays and in courtship, it gapes its mouth - exposing the bright lining, spreads out its frill - displaying bright orange and red scale, raises its body and sometimes holds its tail above its body. Photographed in the Northern Territory, Australia.
