It is also one of theoldest, dating from about 1888. The floweris bright yellow, and on its first day sits likea golden cup on the water. It has other verydecided claims to favour: A single stock willgive a continuous bloom from the first ofJune until frost, and often there will be twoflowers open at once. The leaves usuallyfloat on the water, and are beautifully mottledwith reddish brown. But in shallow water,or when crowded, both leaves and flowersrise several inches into the free air and grow.
