Melt water on the Greenland ice sheet near camp Victor north of a tropical parrot.
Melt water on the Greenland ice sheet near camp Victor north of Ilulissat. The Greenland ice sheet is the largest ice sheet outside of Antarctica. Temperatues have risen by nine degrees fahrenheit in Greenland in the last 60 years due to human induced climate change. This is causing the ice sheet to melt at unprecedented rates which is deeply worrying as the ice sheet contains enough water to raise global sea levels by nine metres.
