Highway between Hamburg and Lubeck. Original caption: On May 13, 1937, Inspector General Dr. Todt opened the 57 km long highway between Hamburg and Lubeck. In the Ochsenkoppel forest: The driver plunges ceremoniously down into the dusky beech forest, the rustling crowns of which will close over the road in just a few years. With the greatest care and love, considerable trees were preserved during construction, creating a picture that always exhilarates when driving along the route. Photo by Volk und Reich (Else Hege).
