Stamp Moistener (Tomato), late 1800s-early 1900s. Firm of Peter Carl Fabergé (Russian, 1846-1920). Jade, diamonds, gold; overall: x cm (2 1/2 x 2 1/16 in.). This stamp moistener in the form of a green tomato is carved out of a single piece of jade. The stem, tipped by a diamond mounted in gold, is removable. The interior end of this stem holds the brush that is used to wet a stamp for letters.
