Made in the south of France Pair of cut-out faience hot-air balloons 1st third of 19th century Faience fired at a low heat (H. 33cm, Diameter 26 cm) Former collections of A. de Montgolfier and Léon Barthou Muller-Quênot Collection Commissioned in 1825 by one of the Montgolfier brothers' nephews, these cut-out faience hot-air balloons have been used as garden lamps.
