Watch 1571 Watchmaker: The engraving on the cover of the case is from a print by Jacob Binck (ca. 1500–1569) titled A Roman Soldier Presenting Grapes to a Nude Woman. Other engravings on the case allude to allegories of faithful wives. The use of both brass and steel for the wheels of the movement seems to indicate a Flemish origin for the watch. The primitive form of the cock would appear to support the early Watch 194139
