Arch of the Sergii is an Ancient Roman triumphal arch located in Pula, Croatia.


Tourists walking under the Arch of the Sergii an Ancient Roman triumphal arch located in Pula on the Istria Peninsula in Croatia. (Also known as the Arch of Sergius) Date of construction was between 29 and 27BC. This honorary triumphal arch, originally a city gate, was erected as a symbol of the Roman victory at the Battle of Actium, a naval battle which took place in 31BC off the promontory of Actium in western Greece. The arch now makes a grand entrance to one of Pulas main shopping streets.
