Under Bridge Union Canal View of a Bubble Gate and Surface Plant Growth With Colourful, Moored Narrow Boats. Paddington, London.

A bubble barrier to help keep the canal free from rubbish and blossoming plant life but allowing free access for the narrow Boats. The Grand Union Canal is miles of waterway completed in 1801. In its heyday the Basin was a hub of activity. The canal system running through prime residential areas in Paddington and Maida Vale is known as ‘Little Venice’. This canal system terminates at the Paddington Basin. There is a regular water bus service along this canal eastwards around Regent’s Park to London Zoo and Camden Town.
