As with every movement study using tags, some limitations are present, , summer observations were mostly made during the tagging operations near aquatic feeding sites; faU observations were principally done by hunters and, during the winter, systematic searches of the study area were done using a helicopter. A certain bias in the observation procedure is evident but this bias cannot be accounted for. All the observations were mapped on 1: 50,000 topo- graphic charts.
