Like its town building, Landaff's church is fairly new, the original church was dilapidated and difficult to heat, and so was torn down. In hard winters the congregation (consisting of only 6 or 7 people when the roads are bad) meet in a basement room. Methodism began in the North around 1800 and grew during 3 generations. But by 1900 interest in the church and even in religion had begun to fade.
