Martin Creed neon message on the Harris Museum and art gallery in Preston
Preston, UK. 25th January 2017. A huge neon sign proclaiming that “Everything is going to be alright” by Turner Prize winning artist Martin Creed is beaming down from Preston’s grade 1 listed Harris Museum and art gallery. The artwork ‘number 203’ is part of the artist’s contemporary art exhibition which will be on show at the Harris. Preston City Council had to apply for special permission to install the artwork which will be in place until June. The Harris is the first museum outside of London to showcase some works on display. Martin Creed’s work will be on display inside the Harris from 27th January. Martin Creed rose to prominence following his 2001 Turner Prize win. He uses sculpture, neon, painting, video and performance.
