Daines Barrington (), British judge and antiquarian. Barrington, admitted to the Inner Temple in 1745, practised law from 1750. Positions he held as a judge included Recorder of Bristol and King's Counsel. He was a Fellow of the Royal Society (1767) and Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries (1767). His works include a 1773 edition of work by 4th-century historian Orosius. This 1795 engraving, based on a 1770 artwork, is from 'Illustrations of the Literary History of the Eighteenth Century', an 8-volume work published between 1817 and 1858 by English printer and antiquarian John Nichols and his son John Bowyer Nichols.
