Fish farm breeding research. Researchers preparing trout sperm dissected from fish testes for use in egg fertilisation research. The sperm straws shown here will be stored in liquid nitrogen to create a sperm bank for genetic selection. This project is part of the PEIMA experimental fish farm (Pisciculture Experimentale INRA des Monts d'Arree) in Sizun, Finistere, Brittany, in north-western France. INRA is the French national agronomy research institute. Photographed in 2011.
