Historic stone on St Leonards seafront where William the Conqueror reputedly dined at Bulverhythe on landing in England in 1066


Tradition says that in September 1066 William the Conqueror landed at Bulverhythe and dined on this stone now situated on the seafront promenade at St Leonards-on-Sea, Hastings, East Sussex, UK. The Battle of Hastings was fought on the 14th October 1066. The Norman Conquest.
